In my experience 20 years+ Evostick glues do not match up. Titebond is the premium glue for Guitar making, I would probably use cheaper glues "around the house". One thing you need to do however is do not keep titebond in an unheated garage - freezing definitely ruins it. Got a Bad Container In all the years I have been using Titebond glues, I have always had good success. I bought a bottle of it at the Axminster store in Devon in 2012 that had a fault with the nozzle, being that I couldn't pull it open. Every time I closed it, even though it was completely clean, I couldn't re-open it using all my strength. I got really frustrated having to fish around for a pair of pliers just to open my glue bottle. In 10 years, it has been a one-off occurrence, so I'm not too concerned. I did throw the bottle away still more than half full, but I'm still a Titebond loyalist.

I use it in the U.S., too. Have been using the Titebond range for a few years now and love them, this glue is a good price and works fantastically. Great open time, nice and runny so it doesn't 'hold open' tight fitting joints and the having a nozzle with a really good sealing action saves me hours of unblocking dried tubes! I can only imagine the guy who had his joints fail was using it incorrectly somehow?? Overall much better than the old fashioned PVA's and I will never use anything else now. Stronger than the wood! I've been using this to make guitars for round twenty years. The scarf-jointed headstock is a particularly vulnerable area so I glued up a test piece. After leaving for 24hrs to set, I put it in a vice and laid into it with a mallet. When it eventually broke, it was actually the wood which failed and not the glue joint. I've repeated this test many times to prove to skeptics how strong a glued joint can actually be. The wood always fails first. I've planed it, routed it and bandsawed it without any problems, so the reviewer who had joints fall apart when machining them needs to look elsewhere for the cause of his problems.

Will never use anything else Only ever used Evostick PVA before being recommended to this. I won't be going back! Good initial tack for PVA, cleans easily without staining, sands easily, and no joints ever come apart. Always be safe when you’re carrying out repairs by ensuring that plug of the appliance has been removed from the socket.
