Breakfast - there will be no (or almost no) difference in a menu during all time you spend there.

If you a vegetarian your typical breakfast is a sandwich with cheese + some fruits. If you don't eat meat - the same. There will be no fish or any seafood. Once fruit salad was sour. But bananas, melons and watermelons are just perfect! The sound isolation is poor, because it's quite old building, so expect to hear all trolleys from the corridor, hairdryer-vacuum cleaner of your neighbor and so on.눇I liked a view, it's just incredible to see an ocean right from your balcony! There was an air conditioning system in our room, so even if it's hot outside, it's quite comfortable inside. There is a bus stop in like 5 minutes of walking, so you can go to Funchal and back anytime you want, if you don't want to book a shuttle bus provided from the hotel. The area nearby is quite. 눉I would have just expected softer bed mattress, after one night I started to feel back pain and couldn't rest for the rest of 3 nights. In general,hotel seemed a little outdated. However, we booked it for a very good price so cannot complain much.눇Overall all seemed ok.

Nice area, hotel built on the roks of vulcanic island. Nice views from the terrace of the restaurant. 눉To my surprise, main language in the hotel was German, not Portuguese. All signs and tourist information were published in German. Tv channels were dubbed in German. Staff however, were friendly and fluent in many languages. 눇Very helpful and friendly staff throughout. English speakers as a norm. Food excellent with great choice of facilities in the Roca Mar and its two adjacent sister hotels - all available to Roca Mar guests. Location is very good, with alternative eateries within comfortable walking distance - all good quality. Excellent public transort and Hotel Courtesy Bus service. Parking good for those in need of it. 눉Bit far out of town눇Coastal views 눉- Very expensive menu in restaurant - and you will not get the as tasty dish as it costs. It's not comfortable to get to the town by shuttle. - Very old furniture and absolutely terrible mattresses and pillows.

The pillow is like full of sand instead of feathers. Our necks were in pain every morning ( Also we reserved the room with one bed and got the room with 2 beds. Of course it's not the end of the world but you know it's hard to feel absolutely happy when your husband sleeps on another bed in you anniversary. - No Wi-Fi in room - Late check in Anyway that was just a few disadvantages which could not spoil the stay at such a wonderful place as Canico.눇The place of hotel is just great! If you would like to swim - no problem, very comfortable steps right in ocean. Good meals for breakfast Friendly staff - helped with all problems. 눉Single beds눇Really helpful staff, great balcony, nice and peaceful 눉free wifi works only in the lobby. it should work in the rooms. a bit noisy, soundproofing should be improved. air conditionning works only when the room card is in its device눇sea view++ wide room with a small kitchen and a real fridge singer several evening a week in the sea view restaurant.

The staff was not the most friendly.눇with the special offer that we got (50% discount) when we booked Roca Mar, the price quality ratio was excellent. Otherwise there are better options at Canico. 눉The hotel is large and crowded and if you don't not like people running to the beds alongside the pool to put towels for their whole family, do not go there. The dinner and drink prices are far too high. If you go out a few miles to the west, food and drinks are much better, cheaper and with a cosy atmosphere눇The terrace where o.a. breakfast is served has a terrific view over the Atlantic

눉-눇Everything was great, but some details: - very-very clean and quite room - it is not a right place for young party-faces, but the best place when you would like to have a calm holiday with island-tour or diving - Bed was very comfortable - good location - 15 minutes from Funchal by car (but you can use the Hotel's shuttle or public transport - stop near to hotel) - it is a hotel, not apartman, but there was a small kitchen in the room with full equipment (fridge, dishes, cooker, cutlery - all were new) and the small Spar is just close to the hotel (but the bar/restaurant in hotel recommended, because the kitchen is so delicious) - the view from the hotel just amazing! - there is no wifi in the room (which is great:), but in the bar/restaurant it is free 눉Our hotel room could use a refreshing refurbishment in color, new lampshades , reading lights over the bed and a kettle in the room had been delightful ! Little water pressure in the shower!눇The cliffs and the sound of the sea!
