Maximise the performance of your Vax U89-MA, U90-MA, U91-MA Air series upright vacuum cleaner with this replacement Filter Kit. Contains 1x Pre-Motor Filter, 1x Anti-Bacterial H12 HEPA Filter. Genuine Vax Filters maximise particle retention and help to remove pollen and allergens from your household. Replacing filters regularly in your Vacuum Cleaner is strongly recommended as this helps to prolong the product’s life and ensures consistently-strong suction performance is maintained. Products with consumable filters will generally require replacement of their filter sets once every 12 months. Check your User Guide for specific filter maintenance and replacement guidelines. 1x Pre-Motor Filter1x Anti-Bacterial H12 HEPA Filter Genuine Type 65 Filter Kit Genuine C89-P7/U89-MAF/U89-MAF2 Pre-Motor Filter See all 252 customer reviews See all 252 customer reviews (newest first) I bought this kit for my U90-MA-Re.When I got it, I found the pre motor filter fits fine but the post motor filter is too big, just as the review by Graeme Thomson.

Would highly recommend this product!! Pleased with product and quick delivery hoover now woks perfect, good price and fast delivery Has prolonged the life of my hoover, excellent!light and still does the jobJUST TWO WORDS - MUST BUY!!New and improved for 2012OutstandingWhat's this?I think it is fair to say that the hype surrounding the Dyson range of vacuum cleaners is something that passed me by. I always thought they looked ridiculous and were overpriced for what they were. At the supermarket they were always stood next to similar-looking Vax and Electrolux bagless cleaners but invariably priced £50-£100 higher. Truth be told, if I hadn't received one through the Vine programme I never would have bought one, certainly not at this end of the range.
Sadly, I'd have been missing out because the DC40 is a brilliant bit of kit. I don't think I could ever call myself a vacuum cleaner enthusiast, despite this being the 2nd vacuum cleaner I've reviewed on Amazon, but compared to the previous one it is night & day. Admittedly, there is a £300 difference in price. On paper there is very little to distinguish between the DC40 and the Vax U90-P2-P Power 2 Pet Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner with Improved Wattage. They both offer a similar air-wattage figure, they're both bagless and boast their pet power credentials. In truth, both will get your carpets just as clean but that is where their paths start to head in different directions. You get the feeling with the Dyson that they've really put a lot of thought into the design. There are a number of tweaks and features that help you get around the various obstacles your house. For example, we have a number of rugs in the lounge to reduce the wear on the carpet in the high traffic areas. The Vax will struggle at the edge of the rug where it meets the carpet.
Without all four sides of the suction head on the carpet the Vax collects almost nothing, but the Dyson has a flange on the underside that maintains better contact with the two surfaces and it continues to suck just fine. The flanged head also maintains better contact with normal carpet too, ensuring that you need to spend less time going over the same spot. The ball design on the Dyson really does help you manoeuvre around the room, getting you into tight corners and makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable. Yes, I did say enjoyable. For other furnishings like the curtains and the sofa, the extension hose is built into the handle and the plastic tube retracts into the hose when you are finished with it, unlike the Vax which requires some assembly every time you need to use it. This allows you to seamlessly move between surfaces, even if there isn't anywhere particularly convenient to store the brushed 2nd head besides leaving it poking out of the top of the handle. When you have finished cleaning and need to empty the canister, you simply point the end of the canister into the bin and press the eject button.
With the Vax the filter is inside the canister and collects hair and dust in the folds, which requires plucking out and a light tap on the floor to clear. On the Dyson, the filter is somewhere else entirely and there's nothing for the dust and hair to stick to. It's a subtle difference, but it is a significant improvement in day to day use. Now, a reality check. The Vax will get your carpets just as clean for £300 less, but it won't be as easy (or enjoyable) and you'll have to get used to picking hair and dust out of the filter. The Dyson isn't a necessary purchase in that regard. You can get a perfectly adequate cleaner for £70, but now that I've had a Dyson I'd try to find the extra cash if I could. You could say I've been converted.DC40 good comedy value but potentially DANGEROUS?Roars like a lion, coughs up fur balls like a tabby! Full review plus comparison with Vax U88-AM-B Air3Bought to replace a Vax U88-AM-B Air3 because I was fed up with a short hose and having to cut hair of the brush bar every few weeks.
Upright use:A fair bit more powerful than the Vax. Has a deep, but not too loud, roar to let you know you have indeed purchased a serious and very powerful vacuum cleaner. The manoeuvrability of the Dyson is a bit better than the Vax, but the ball does not live up to the hype - I was expecting it to be really easy to manoeuvre. The ball (from James Dyson's early wheel barrow invention!) should be better long term though; the Vax needs its wheels removing and lubricating every month or so. Some other vacuum cleaners we have had have small wheels whose bearings get clogged up with time and then they get REALLY difficult to manoeuvre! Very clever to get the motor and all electronics in the ball too - cool! Perhaps a novelty that will soon wear off though, perhaps when to try to push this thing under a low chair or other item of furniture. You can turn the Dyson on the spot and go round corners easily - when it is turned off, but when it is on there is no hope of turning on the spot, due to the immense suction (whether on carpet or hard floor), if you have the strength to try, then the actual handle just twists!
The Vax is a fair bit lighter (4.9kg vs the Dyson's 7kg) and stays upright better when not in use. Store the Dyson away from toddlers who could easily topple it over.Hose and attachments:This Dyson has a good long hose that will reach to the top of our single flight stairs whilst it is parked at the bottom. But when you turn the Dyson on, the hose wants to retract so you have to fight with it a bit (just like you used to with a Dc07 all those years ago). You need to come up with a better hose design James! The hose attaches low down so that the Dyson does not pull over whilst you are using the hose. The hose retracts and stores with the wand inside it which forms the handle for the upright. This is typical of Dyson upright design for the last 20 years and is neat and tidy good design. The wand and hose is easy to remove and use, automatically sucking when the Dyson is in the upright position. The attachments store neatly on the side ready for use (except the mini turbine tool) and are good.
The Vax hose was way to short for practical use and the attachments easily got knocked off the side when using it as an upright. The Vax attachments also had a method of clipping which allows a lot of suction to be lost via the clips. The Dyson is a clear upgrade over the Vax in terms of hose and attachments.Plus you get the turbine tool, which makes this Dyson an animal! This picks up fluff and hair with no tangles! Great, no more fortnightly cutting of hair of the brush bar! I couldn't understand how it could not get tangled, but it has two contra rotating oval discs with stiff vertical bristles that rip the hair apart and create balls of short hair that are sucked up. Occasionally a fur ball is deposited but this then easily hoovered up. The turbine tool is quite small which is great on stairs but is quite time consuming to use on a large floor. Vax do have a separate turbo tool attachment that comes with a pet Vax but this is smaller and easily slows down when pressed against deep pile carpet and easily gets clogged and it isn't long before it doesn't work anymore.
