Possibly the worst household product I have ever purchased. Vax customer service poor… “Waste of money, totally useless product” nzKrause114 (1 review written) This was on offer in Asda, fairly inexpensive but I'd had a Vax before which had been quite good. This has totally put me off Vax, will not buy another. Works okay for a few minutes, then as soon as there is just a little dust & debris inside, it clogs up and all suction is lost. At best though, when it has just been emptied, the suction is very unimpressive, it just pushes the crumbs & fluff around the carpet & you have to go over & over the same area without much effect. I bought this from Asda who refused to publish this review. The metal tubes are too short, causing back pain after extended use. The hose is too long, creating a dangerous trip hazard in tight spaces (I stood on and tripped over the hose several times in the early stages before I learned to be very careful). The power cord is barely long enough. The cable rewind is good. The tools are mostly too small but the crevice tool is too big. The bristles of the dusting tool are too short and too… I am an ex-pat living in Portugal. Just seven months ago I purchased this machine in UK and took it home (Portugal). The motor has burned out with very limited use after just six months, I contacted the customer support at VAX to be told that I have invalidated the guarantee by taking the product out of UK. In these days of increased trade via the internet and bearing in mind Portugal is part of the EU I think the 500,000 or so expats in Europe should be made aware of the unfair fine print…

I bought this from a supermarket for less than £50. Suction is good and it isn't too noisy… Vax U87-MA-P Mach Air Pet Lightweight Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner Hoover Weighing less than 5kg, it has all the cleaning power and capacity of a full size multi-cyclonic upright in a compact and lightweight package. This makes it easy to carry from room to room and use with the minimum of effort, without losing anything in performance. Powerful 200AW multi-cyclonic force is used to separate dirt from the air path so it collects in the container - not the filter - and your filters don’t get blocked. Clean filters ensure the suction of the machine is always as powerful as the first time you use it for consistently good dust pick-up. Constant powerful suction makes cleaning quicker too. The turbo tool is great for picking up pet hair, while an LED performance indicator quickly alerts you of any blockages. Its handle can be adjusted to 8 different heights and it has a 3-in-1 crevice tool, dusting brush and upholstery tool stored on board for easy cleaning all around your home.

Pet – pet attachmentsThe Vax U90-MA-Re Air Reach is an upright vacuum cleaner that is lightweight, powerful and versatile. Designed to clean carpets, hard floors and harder to reach areas within the home, it delivers a powerful performance across multiple surfaces. It features a long reach cleaning hose to allow you reach the top of the stairs, whilst leaving your vacuum at the bottom of the stairs. It’s also ideal for cleaning those awkward hard to reach areas. The Vax Air Reach also features multi-cyclonic technology, which provides powerful suction across both carpets and hard floors and allows for effective home cleaning. This also enables you to complete a more efficient and longer-lasting clean, as you look to remove embedded dirt and maintain a pristine home. A rotating brushbar also agitates deep down dirt and stains, so that you can clean beneath the surface and leave your floors looking fresh and pristine. There are also a host of tools and accessories that enable dynamic, above the floor cleaning.

Among these is a purposeful TurboTool, which is useful for removing stubborn and embedded pet hair from your carpets, fabric and shelves. The Vax Air Reach also features a 3-in-1 crevice, dusting and upholstery tool for cleaning awkward areas above the floor, including skirting boards, blinds, and stairs. Despite featuring a large dirt container, the product is also ultra-lightweight and portable and weighs just 4.9 kg when in use. This product therefore has the cleaning power and functionality of a conventional upright but weighs a third less. Slim and compact, the Vax Air Reach is ideal for cleaning from room to room and up and down stairs with the minimum of effort. An extra-long power cord also enables room to room cleaning, without the need for frequent unplugging. For allergy sufferers, this product has also been designed to incorporate an inbuilt HEPA media filtration system, which filters out dirt, dust and pollen particles and creates a far fresher living environment. The Vax Air Reach is an innovatively designed and compact upright vacuum cleaner that has been designed by one of Great Britain’s leading floorcare brands and equipped with a handle that can be adjusted to clean at eight different heights.

Powered by multi-cyclonic technology for powerful and consistent suction across multiple surfaces, it is ideal for busy home and pet owners that are keen to maintain a clean living space. Lightweight, powerful and easy to use, it enables convenient cleaning throughout the home. The Vax U90-MA-Re Air Reach has been engineered in line with the EU’s Eco-design and Energy Labelling regulations for vacuum cleaners, introduced from September 2014. Information about its energy efficiency can be found within the energy label. What is it for? From September 2014 all new vacuum cleaners must comply with EU Eco-design and Energy Labelling regulations that dictate how they are designed and labelled. The most visible part of the legislation is the energy label, which will be displayed with every new vacuum cleaner. The purpose of the label is to help you judge how energy efficient the vacuum cleaner is and assess its potential energy costs when compared to other models on the market.
