Pros:

( I had just vac with my old vac and got a whole canister of junk out of my carpet that already looked clean. It has a cord rewind. It works beautifully on hard floors Cons: #1 and the reason I am returning it. EVERY time I put the van into the upright position the hose comes out. I have a toddler pitching toys in my path, I have to stop and pick them up a dozen times.... and have to reattach the hose. And that's a deal breaker. The attachment hose gets slack while vac.... that's a pet peeve, but its true. Sometimes you have to rewind the cord more then once to get it to go in all the way. this sucker is HEAVY.... by far the heaviest vac I have ever had. The only other vac heavier is my Grandma's..... which is green... and was more then likely purchased in the 50's... and I hope I get that in her will.... because the vac is a monster! Indeed, if you are carrying it up the stairs, it is a little heavy, but to roll across the floor it is fine.

The attachments work well. When I was researching, someone stated that the retractable cord didn't go all the way back in. I have had that happen a few times. I have learned that to avoid that, just let it go and retract on its own. If you try to make it go slower several inches of the cord will not go in. My only complaint has to do with replacing the dirt canister after cleaning. I could have the house cleaned by the time the top goes back on. I have reread the instructions many times but seem to be doing everything correctly. Other than that, it was a great purchase! Cat hair--beware, this thing makes you disappear!!! I purchased this item at a local Walmart and brought it home and put it together assembly was very easy it simply snaps together. The problems I found with this vacuum cleaner are:: 1. It is extremely heavy and impossible to move on a medium to high pile rug 2. the cord is in the way when using the cleaning wand.

The cord is very short and one has to constantly plug and replug going from room to room. 3. The cleaning wand is short causing one to constantly bend over when using on the floor and making it impossible to clean overhead without lifting the entire vacuum which is heavy. The suction is very good but there is no way of reducing the suction when going from rug to bare floor. I know you get what you pay for but one should not have to pay over $300 to get the necessary features on a vacuum cleaner such as a longer cord, longer flexible cleaning wand, good suction, beltless, easy to reach and clean filters VACUUM CLEANER COMPANIES:: I would recommend that you allow an actual user of your product to design the product!! I do like the automatic cord winder though, although it has hurt me a few times. but I would NOT ever buy this vacuum again. I have had a hoover for 5 years, and have never had to replace the belt. There are several causes that may cause the belts to wear out/break faster.

Step 1: Please make sure that you are using Genuine Eureka style W belts.

Step 2: Check the brush roll. Clean hair and thread from bristles and end cap area. Please make sure the end caps are turning freely.

Step 3: Readjust the height of your vacuum. Having the height set too low will cause the brush roll to dig into the carpet and make the brush roll hard to turn.

This will put excess pressure on the belts and wear them our faster. We recommend that you set your height to the highest setting and slowly lower it until the unit begins to pick up.

The Eureka AirSpeed® PRO ALL FLOORS Rewind Pet has a 5-setting height adjustment, so it should not be difficult to push if the height setting is not set too low. We purchased this vacuum for it's ability to be used on thick, soft carpets, with the nice lever to adjust carpet thickness. Got it home and assembled and selected the thickest carpet type and started vacuuming. Well the lever kept moving itself to the next step down thickness, which makes it too hard to push and clean the carpet. (We have a new Smartstrand Silk carpet) So unfortunately we're going to have to send this back, and wouldn't recommend to anyone that needs to work with the Smartstrand, as the carpet thickness lever just won't stay at the thickest level as needed. If it wasn't already late, I'd have to take it back tonight. Instead, will have to wait until tomorrow. Also, the top part seems rather heavy to be pushing around a lot. Something I could have probably gotten over if the thickness lever actually would stay in place where I set it. I used it shortly after using my old vacuum and this one still managed to pick up dirt. I love the cord rewind feature and will never own another vacuum without this feature. With a push of a button it sucks the cord right back up. My next favorite feature is the ability to turn off the spinning brush with the push of a button. This is great for cleaning hard floors (keeps the dirt and lint from scattering) and when using the hand held tools. I have had a vacuum that didn't have this feature ruin my shag area rug when using the hand held tool.
