And, though Good Housekeeping Research Institute testers found it to be a bit hard to control, the Oreck had good embedded dirt pick-up and great bare-floor and pet-hair cleaning performance. It lacks onboard attachments, however. Still, you'll probably be happy with the Oreck if you primarily want to clean flooring and area rugs, and with its light weight (10 lbs) you might not mind taking it between levels in your home.
