Dumping hard rubbish or electrical items on verges, in street gutters or on vacant land is illegal! A maximum penalty of up to $5,000 may be applied for an offence of this kind. Please report any illegal dumping to the Council on 08 8366 4555. Annual hard waste and e-waste collection The Council currently offers a free annual hard rubbish and e waste collection service. The next hard waste and e-waste collection is scheduled for August - September 2016. The Council does not currently offer an ‘at call’ hard rubbish collection service. The Council's annual hard waste and e-waste collection and disposal service supports its ongoing commitment to waste reduction. The e-waste that is collected is processed at a specialist recycling facility for electronic waste where it is disassembled and supplied to other processors for re-use.

2016 hard waste and e-waste collection dates All items for collection must be placed next to the kerb in front of your property, no earlier than 12 noon on the Saturday and no later than 7am on the Monday of the designated week for collection in your area, otherwise it will not be collected. Recycle your old TV or computer The Zero Waste SA website has a list of permanent free drop-off sites for inactive, damaged or obsolete televisions, computers and their accessories.  Any resident or small business can use these drop off locations. You do not need to live within the council area to use this free service.
