Shirokanedai Lodge is accommodation for international students and foreign researchers engaged in education or research at UTokyo. The Lodge consists of three building (A, B, and C buildings) and there are three types of rooms - single, couple, and family type rooms. The Lodge is located next to the Institute of Medical Science. In addition to having a good location, the Lodge has a good natural environment. International students and foreign researchers enrolled at UTokyo ※ In principle, a room for a couple is available only to the successful applicant and his/her spouse. Preliminary Visit to International Lodge A preliminary visit to an international lodge is open only to the following persons. 1. Prospective residents (whose residency has been permitted) 2. * Residents pay utilities together with accommodation fees by depositing the amount to the UTokyo bank account. The Shirokanedai Lodge office will contact utility companies and undertake the necessary procedures when moving in and out. ※1  If the product of a daily rate and the number of days of stay is greater than the monthly amount, the monthly amount will be adopted. The monthly amount is billed for the stay from the first to the 28th  or 29th of February. ※2  Common service fee should be paid on a monthly basis in the move-in or move-out months regardless of the number of days of stay. ◎  The fees cannot be refunded once it is paid. If you plan to leave the lodge well before the final day of your permitted term of residence, please submit “Notification of Departure of the University of Tokyo International Lodge” 14 days before the departure date at the latest. If a resident fails to submit the notification by the deadline of 14 days before the date of departure, the product of a daily rate and the number of days of delay will be added to the last bill.

(For example, if the departure date is 20 November and the submission date is 10 November, the amount for four additional days will be charged.) International students: Applications are accepted twice a year - in January for applicants moving into the Lodge in April, and in June for applicants moving into the Lodge in September. Foreign Researchers: Applications are accepted every month from six months before the preferred moving-in date.
