I used it on my stairs and couch. I thought to myself, no big deal, I have changed belts before. So, I looked on the machine for the belt size, nothing. I misplaced the manual, so I went online. Found the website and manual for my machine.

Nothing on changing a belt, BUT, you could buy the belt directly from the manufacturer with shipping costs. I looked at the machine to figure out how to take off the guard and replace the belt. It looked like you had to take the entire vacuum apart. I searched Google, I was right. Found other posts on many sites with my same problem. I am chucking the vacuum and looking for a more respectable brand like Dirt Devil or Hoover. What a waste of my money!!!! Walmart, get rid of this product. Yes () No ()  Report Yes () No () I just bought this vaccuum today in-store, and I have to say, I haven't been in love with an appliance so much! I live in a small apartment and wanted a vaccuum that was inexpensive, but would clean THOROUGHLY...this did the trick! Its so inexpensive considering the voltage and suction, I was really suprised when I turned it on! It sucked up dirt I didn't even know was there! I've used some pretty expensive uprights with less suction than this little thing. I love that it has a HEPA filter and the hose attatchment, its light and really nice-looking.

I don't mind the cord because its long enough for the rooms in my apartment. This vaccuum does have a strong odor when using it...I think due to the power of the motor, its like a lawnmower running...it doesn't linger at all, and I don't mind because its unavoidable considering its power. I bought this to use on my boat thinking the roller would help with the dirt etc that gets brought into the boat while out recreating. I used this 3 times gently and the belt broke. No big deal, there should be replacements at Walmart- Nope, nothing would fit, Ace hardware? Nope, noting would fit. so I started the online search and was not able to find on the shark website so I called them. The replacement belt was almost 10 bucks ! Oh, but wait, you get two !!! And on top of that the shipping and handling to Colorado was another 5 bucks. It can go in a padded envelope for 70 cents.

The money is not the issue, it's the fact that parts are not readily available and then they gouge you when you finally figure out you need to call them to even be able to locate a belt. It did suck up a lot of dirt and pet hair though. So I called the manufacturer (the number is in the user's manual). They said I could take it back to Walmart and exchange it or they could send me new belts for free. I wanted them to send the new belts (2 of them) cuz I really don't have transportation right now to get back to Walmart until next weekend (sharing a car with hubby and he works). The duster attachment on my Bissell vacuum is a piece of junk and I needed something to aid in cleaning window blinds, lampshades, etc. I used this vacuum 3 times. It performed very well at cleaning, but the noise from the motor was so loud my ears were ringing after each use!

My nearly 3-yr-old daughter even pleaded with me after the first use not to turn it on when she saw me getting ready to use it again!! I also disliked how short the tube is. By the time I was at the top of the window I not only was raising the brush, but the vacuum as well. Not being able to sit it down and only having one hand to do the cleaning was very inconvenient. I returned this vacuum and found a canister vacuum to replace it. I'm much happier now and it cleans just as well without all the noise. This was my first experience with Shark; everyone speaks so highly of them, but I will forever be wary of purchasing their products again in the future. We have four staircases covered in carpet, 3 dogs, and 4 kids, so our staircase sees alot of traffic. Initially we had our kids lugging around an upright vacuum which was basically impossible to manuever up and down the stairs.

The suction from the hose was weak, so it really didnt do the job. So we purchased this handheld and it works like a charm. The roller brush picks up all the dog hair. It's light weight so even our 5 yr old boy has no problem carrying it. The canister is easy to clean, so it works out perfect. Yes () No (2)  Report Yes () No (2) Bought this about 2 years ago, worked good in the beginning, was only used once in awhile, then when the belt went bad, that's when I found out replacement belts are impossible to find, and to try and disassemble this vacuum for any roller cleaning or belt replacement is another impossible task without breaking it. It is a poorly designed unit, a total throw away when the belt goes bad or the roller gets stuck with hair or carpet fibers. Spend $20 bucks more and get a better unit that can at least have it's belt changed. I will say that buying this without researching it was my fault, I ran to the store and grabbed one off the shelf for an immediate need, shame on me, heheh.
