Don't waste your money buy a swiffer insteadMy wife wanted a DC-25 for a long time so I finally bought her one. She has used it for just over a month now and as you can see from this video she is a bit underwhelmed with it. On our hardwood floors it just pushes stuff around instead of picking it up. We decided to test the Dyson against the Swiffer in picking up Cheerios off the floor. There is no trickery here the Dyson literally will not pick up Cheerios off the floor. It is a poor design that doesn't allow any height adjustment of the vacuum so anything that is bigger than dust/dirt on the floor is just pushed around. It also doesn't perform much if any better than our old canister vacuum on the area rugs in our house.
We contacted Dyson to see about returning this unit and possibly exchanging it for the older DC17 because we have seen several reviews that said the DC-17 was a much better unit and doesn't have the same issues with hardwood floors that the DC-25 has. Their customer service was less than helpful, leaving my wife quite disappointed with not only the DC-25 but also with Dysons Customer service. We decided to make this short video so hopefully others don't fall into the Dyson marketing hype and waste ~$500 on this vacuum. The good thing about it is that I purchased it from Amazon and they were as always more than helpful with the situation and are taking care of us. The best vacuum for any money!Style Name: Standard Brush RollEXCELLENT Suction, With a Few Minor AnnoyancesStyle Name: Standard Brush RollIf you're looking for a quality vacuum without breaking the bank, the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional just might be the one for you.First and foremost, the suction on this thing is fantastic. Seeing what winds up in the container is a little... scary. I can obviously see that my carpet looks cleaner without the dog hair all over it, but what I couldn't see was all the dust and dander the Shark pulled up from beneath the surface. harga vacuum cleaner tori home thv 1600Even with the large capacity of the Professional model, we filled the container on the first time out just by vacuuming the second floor of the house. vax astrata vacuum cleaner review
(And this was only after two weeks, having vacuumed previously with an Electrolux EL5020A Intensity Upright Vacuum Cleaner that clearly wasn't doing as good a job as I thought it was). This is out first bagless vacuum, and I was a little skeptical about the whole thing. I really liked being able to pull out a bag, banishing the dust and dog hair to the trash can with no chance of it getting all over the place. katomo vacuum cleanerBut I haven't had any issues with the Shark spilling out dust... and not spending any more money on bags is certainly nice too!The model we purchased, NV356E (available at Bed, Bath & Beyond), also comes with an super-long crevice tool. If you're on the tall side, this will probably save your back a bit while trying to get into some hard-to-reach areas like behind furniture, but by no means is it an essential tool. The only thing working against the Shark Navigator Pro is that is it is not well balanced, i.e. it is top-heavy (because it is so light overall).
When you are using the hand-held wand, it is very easy to tip the vacuum over, possibly into one of your nice pieces of furniture, which will cause your wife to yell at you and then supervise the rest of your vacuuming. Not that I'm speaking from personal experience or anything. No, certainly not... but this did cost it a star in my rating. There's also no headlight, which I actually find really useful on a vacuum cleaner. It's by no means a deal-breaker, but it would have been nice to have.I would say that if you don't need the extra capacity or the hardwood floor attachment, you should go with the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum (the regular version). The motor is exactly the same, so you are not losing any of the suction power. Of course, some of those reviews mention that model being top-heavy as well, although it seems reasonable that given its smaller size, it would less of an issue. You'll also save yourself a couple of bucks in the process. The Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional is, of course, made in China.
However, I will say that the product is very well made. The components are all very sturdy, and they fit together well. While it's only been a couple of months, I think I am safe in saying that this is product built to last. Changed the Mind of this Vacuum Snob!Style Name: Standard Brush Roll| I purchased this Shark vacuum after having owned two Dysons over the past eight years. I swore by Dyson for years an even poo-pooed my own mother when she told me how much better Shark vacuums were. I continued this vacuum snobbery until she purchased one for my grandmother. I have been helping my grandmother by cleaning her house every week and I finally had a chance to use a Shark. My mother and grandmother both have the Rotator professional and I have to say I was very impressed by how well it cleaned my grandmother's berber carpets. I still wasn't convinced Sharks were better. It wasn't until I was vacuuming a living room rug with my Dyson DC 34 Animal that I decided to give the Shark a try.
You see I ran the Dyson over that rug again and again and I could still see hair on the black parts of the rug. So I though I would bring my grandmother's Shark over to my home (she lives across the street) and see if Sharks were indeed all I had heard about. I plugged her Shark in and ran it over the same rug. I was amazed and disappointed that it picked up every single piece of kitty hair on that rug. That rug actually looked clean. I say disappointed because now I had to admit to my mother that she was right, lol. Now in case you think I wasn't cleaning the filters and doing the required maintenance on my Dyson you are wrong. A vacuum that costs that much you make sure you take care of. Anyway I was so impressed that I purchased a Shark for myself. I purchased the Navigator Professional and I absolutely love it. It pulls up cat hair like a dream. The only complaint I could ever have about this vacuum is that the vacuum head is not as wide as on my Dyson but the good news is that I love to vacuum so this is not a huge problem.
