While the unit has plenty of power at 1200 watts, a star off as the included STB 205-3 isn't one of Miele's better attachments and suffers in comparison to the high end versions. 4 stars, however, as the parquet cleaner is good and as nearly the least expensive of the compact canisters, it's a very good base if you'd like to upgrade.If you're reading this review, you are likely familiar with Miele's well deserved reputation for great vacuums.

Within the Miele lines, though, there are definite differences. Among them is that the C2 is the compact version of the canister models and is about 2 lbs lighter than the latest version of the traditional canisters like the C1 or the higher end C3. (It also uses a smaller dust bag, the FJM series.)This isn't to say that this isn't a decent enough vacuum as is. The 1200 watts here is equivalent to what Miele had on its highest end vacuums a decade ago, and compared to a Hoover or Electrolux or such it does a better job. However, when compared head-to-head against one of those highest end models, the legendary Blue Moon, carpeting just didn't quite feel as clean.The blame here probably lies in the compact STB 205-3 Turbo Plus rotating roller brush attachment. It just doesn't seem like it gets deep into the carpet the way the Blue Moon's venerable SEB 217-B does. This is the most amazing vacuum cleaner I have ever owned, and at almost 80 years of age, I have owned quite a few in my lifetime.

I purchased this vacuum cleaner after my Miele Flamenco stopped working after 16 years. I am very pleased with this newer version. It is light and easy to maneuver. This is an exceptional vacuum. We've had others but went with this after reading many reviews. Great hardwood floor head, great suction and amazingly quiet. Love it, very light and cleans very good . Only thing didn't like was the carpet attachment, I thought that was a little more bigger The New Miele Compact C2 Onyx Canister Vacuum is the worlds best vacuum! Stores away so nicely. The best investment we've made since adopting our Lab and Shiba Inu. Quietest/Most powerful vacuum we've found and is perfect for picking up the dog hair from our hardwood floors. Best vacuum I ever owned for hard floors. The parquet twister head turns into any and all corners picking up more dirt and crumbs than any other vacuum I have owned. Did a search for shag carpet. This Miele came up. It was not until it arrived that I found out its not.
