Position the Home Base on a hard, level surface against a wall. Make sure it's at least 4 ft (1.2 m) from any stairs and that Roomba has a clear path to reach it. Ensure there are no foreign objects (e.g., stickers, tape, or paint) on the bumper or on the Home Base. Wipe down the charging contacts on the Home Base and robot with a clean, dry cloth. Verify Roomba can return to its Home Base by manually by placing Roomba within 6 ft (2 m) of the Home Base and pressing DOCK. If Roomba is going past Virtual Walls, verify that the Virtual Wall is turned on and the beam is facing the proper direction of the desired area to block. If cleaning multiple rooms in one cleaning cycle, Roomba may not be able to find its dock at the end of a mission. If you have a compatible robot, use Virtual Wall Lighthouses to help guide Roomba from room to room, and back to its Home Base when the mission is complete.
