Push the height selector button on the base of the vacuum forward to the carpet position, and turn it upside down. Push the latches in and push the locking tabs down on the base plate, and turn it away from the vacuum nozzle to expose the belt and agitator bar. Pull the belt off the shaft of the motor. Lift the agitator bar and slide the belt off its end to remove the old belt. Slide a new UB-1 belt over the shaft of the motor, then slide it over end of the agitator bar. Inspect the belt to make sure it is in the center of the belt groove on the agitator bar. Line up the square extensions on the ends of the agitator bar with the slots on the vacuum and push the agitator bar down to reinstall it. Turn the base plate toward the vacuum nozzle and push the latches out to reinstall the base plate.
