We had a battery operated hand held that just didn't do the job. It works really, really well for the reason we bought it. Also use it now to sweep the kitchen floor. Pull out the broom and dust pan about once a month now, only to get deep in the corners and some of the hard to reach places. We considered a cordless but they get so expensive and we just hadn't seen good, long-time suction out of the battery operated ones. It is designed really well. The collection bin is simple to empty after every use. There's a pre-filter that seems to catch hair and such, which we twist off and clean about once every 2 weeks (really simple and quick). Finally there's a sponge filter we knock off the dust about once a month (again very simple). Don't consider this a vacuum. It works best on flat floors or low pile throw rugs. Only drawback is that you need a screwdriver to remover the roller brush.

Yes (1) No (0) Report Yes (1) No (0) Verified purchaser Received today and of course I had to vacuum my floors--throw rugs, tile, laminate. It was wonderful and I was shocked at how much dirt was in the cup when I was done. I have a Miele and like this stick so much better. The Miele canister is so cumbersome and heavy to pull around and sucks up my throw rugs so much that I have to stand on the corners of the rug. It also does not glide over my tile or laminate easily. But this Hoover is terrific with my throw rugs and it slides beautifully over the tile and laminate. It makes less noise. The cup stuck a bit when I used the release button and I had to open it from the side with my fingers. I think in time it will be easier to open. Oh, I pray this lasts a long time as I love it!

My floors look spotless. Yes (7) No (0) Report Yes (7) No (0) Verified purchaser Works good for hardwood flooring and running over carpeting for quick pickup. Does not replace a regular vacuum for carpets. But if you want something light weight and for wood floors, does a good job. Yes (2) No (0) Report Yes (2) No (0) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser Previously, I used a Hoover Flair. It worked great picking up pet hair, but cleaning out the dirt cut and especially the cloth filter was tedious. This unit's dirt cup just opens up and the dirt and pet hair just slides right out. Yes (5) No (0) Report Yes (5) No (0) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I purchased this item to replace a Hoover electric broom that was many years old. I wanted a corded broom as I read reviews about cordless machines needing frequent charging. My new Hoover is lightweight and has great suction power. The cord is long and enables me to get my tile and wood floors done in no time.

I like the fact that it has two speeds. The cup is see-through, unlike my older version, so it's easy to see when it's getting full. I would definitely recommend this item. vorwerk vacuum cleaners durbanMy old Hoover vacuum was actually too powerful - I couldn't push it or drag it back and forth!
tennant vacuum cleaner v14I had to put it on a floor setting.
electrolux bagless vacuum cleaner z1860It was also very heavy. I bought this stick vacuum and it works perfectly on my carpet - glides easily and picks up any dirt embedded. I also use it on my wood floors and laminate flooring downstairs.

easy to empty, no bags, the swivel head caught me by surprise just how handy this feature works. The ONLY problem I ran into was is that there is a "screw" that connects the upper handle to the unit. Well it's not a screw - its a pin and when you lower the handle to vacuum it falls out immediately. I just put a one inch length strong tape over the pin to hold it in place and it works fine. The unit is lightweight and the pin isn't causing any problems - but Hoover really needs to fix this problem on their units. I would have given my review a 5 had it not been for the screw/pin mistake. Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I already was told that it's great! Yes (1) No (0) Report Yes (1) No (0) Verified purchaser I have owned three of these vacuums in the last three years. Every single one of them only lasted a year or less before it broke. The first one was cordless and after six months the brush roller stopped working. Took it back and got a new one. The batteries stopped holding a charge after about 6-8 months.

So I bought a corded one. Worked great for the first year, then the brush roller stopped working. My husband was able to fix it, but it lasted only a couple of weeks before it stopped again. A design flaw that allows the wire to be in contact with the pivoting mechanism on the head and is eventually cut by the motion of the head. After fixing wire a second time, the head came off while vacuuming. Found that the part connecting the head to the handle had worn out so there was nothing holding it together anymore. While I love this vacuum when it works, I will not be purchasing another one. I think three in three years is ridiculous. They should be made with better materials/design so that they last longer.Your Corded Cyclonic Stick Vacuum should be holding up much better than that. It sounds like you’re in need of a replacement nozzle assembly. They are available here: http://bit.ly/1QyXUxz. Just to be sure you’re squared away we’re sending you an email to further assist.
