Impressive Features of the Eureka OptimaThe Eureka Optima's handle is looped and adjustable to more than eight different heights. This came in handy when my seven year old wanted to try to vacuum. On the lowest handle setting, vacuuming was easy for him. The looped design of the handle makes any angle of vacuuming more comfortable and controlled. How to Make a Space Feel Brighter With the handle down, the Optima is compact and easy to store. It can easily fit in a coat closet with room for coats to hang above. The Eureka Optima has real cleaning power. I was actually very pleasantly surprised to see a lightweight that had just as much or more cleaning power than bulkier full-size uprights. The brushroll and suction power have the ability to clean dirt, pet hair, and debris. The edge and corner cleaning abilities of this vacuum cleaner are amazing. I rarely had to go back along edges or in corners with the cleaning hose. The Optima's hose is clear, has a large diameter, and is crush resistant.
A suction control knob switches power to the hose for above the ground cleaning. With the lightweightness of the Optima, vacuuming the stairs was a breeze.Versatility on Carpet and Hard FloorsThis vacuum cleaner did a fantastic job on carpet. By using the on/off brushroll switch, the Eureka Optima also was fantastic on hardwood, vinyl, and tile floors. The bottom of the cleaner has a line of rubber behind the brush roll that keeps dirt from being blown around on hard surface floors.gtech airram cordless vacuum cleaner ebay The Eureka Optima is a bagless vacuum cleaner that uses a pleated filter and full size dirt cup. karcher water filter vacuum cleaner ds 5.800Don't worry that the compactness of the vacuum cleaner means the dirt cup is teeny. dyson vacuum cleaner dsn-dc24
It holds just as much dirt as a full-size vacuum cleaner. The Eureka Optima will not tip over when you use the tools. With the handle down, the Optima can be pulled around behind you without tipping over. I tried to tip the vacuum over while using the tools, but the hose attachment is so low on the body of the vacuum that it would not fall. Anyone who has ever been hit in the head by a vacuum cleaner while vacuuming under furniture will appreciate this feature.Maintenance for the Eureka Optima Vacuum CleanerThe Eureka Optima will need the filter to be brushed off or washed periodically. The pleated filter can be washed up to 6 times before it needs to be replaced. Remove the filter from the lid of the dust cup and gently wash in warm water with a mild detergent. Filters should be replaced at least every six months. A new filter costs under ten dollars. The dirt cup can also be washed out with mild detergent. The brushroll will need to have hair and debris cleaned off occasionally. See how the Eureka AirSpeed and Hoover WindTunnel stack up in a head-to-head matchup. Upright vacuums are the conventional choice for around-the-house cleaning, but not all models are the same. From power and cord length to weight and on-board tools, there are a number of factors to consider when comparing this category of carpet cleaners. In one corner of this vacuum-versus-vacuum matchup is the AirSpeed Unlimited Pet (AS3033A), a pet-focused upright device from Eureka. In the other is the WindTunnel Air Bagless Upright (UH70400) — a traditional, yet lightweight, model from Hoover.
No matter which vacuum you declare the winner, take a look at our vacuum buying guide for tips on which features you should pay attention to. But how do all of these features, specs and accessories translate into everyday use? NerdWallet takes you shopping: First, let’s take a look at the Eureka AirSpeed Unlimited Pet (model AS3033A). This colorful upright device weighs 15.5 pounds and has a retail price of $129.99. Designed for deep cleaning across a variety of surface types, this device boasts AirSpeed technology for powerful suction. It also features 12 amps of power, a reusable dust cup filter, adjustable height settings and a conveniently wide 13-inch cleaning path. But the device doesn’t stand alone. Its extras include a variety of pet-specific cleaning products, including a PET Power Paw Turbo Nozzle, a PET Dusting Brush, a crevice tool and an extension wand for those hairy situations. When you’re ready to put the product away for the day, you can make use of its automatic cord rewind function — it’ll save you the hassle of rolling up the power cord by hand.
Good fit for: Couple this product’s on-board tools with its efficient cleaning of carpets and bare floors alike, and hands (or should we say paws) down, this Eureka model is a purr-fect match for pet owners who need a vacuum that can clean up pet fur from a variety of surfaces. NerdWallet takes you shopping: The next upright model we analyzed is the WindTunnel Air Bagless Upright (model UH70400) from Hoover. Despite its original price of $159.99, this vacuum is currently available for $129.99, making it competitive with the aforementioned Eureka. As its name suggests, this model includes WindTunnel technology, which is designed to remove both surface-level and deep dirt. Similar to the above-described AirSpeed, this WindTunnel features an adjustable height option, an automatic brushroll shutoff function and soft wheels to counteract scratching. So where do the differences lie? This Hoover lacks an automatic cord rewind function. Additionally, its 11-amp motor is less than the Eureka’s 12 amps.
