After listening to people's reviews of Dyson I decided to give it a try. I have mostly hardwood, so I went with this model. just a great machine that lives up to its requirements every day. I own one of these and it takes me 2 hrs. to vacuum a 1 br. apt. if the canister gets just only1/4 full the brush stops and won't pick up anything. Works okay on carpet, rubbish on wood and tile. Doesn't work well picking up pet hair from flat weave rugs or carpet. I purchased my Dyson DC23 approximately 3 yrs ago; most recently I purchased the Cinetic Canister. But, we're reviewing the DC23. still can"t believe I paid 50 bucks for this great machine
