dyson barrel vacuum cleaner dc47

Age 18-24 25-34 35-44 45-54 55-64 65 and older Gender Male Female This vacuum did amazing; everything it was advertised to do. It is very easy to pull on carpet or on hardsurface floors, the suction is very powerful and cleaned my floors excellently, there was no dust kicked out when it was turned on as well as none while vacuuming (I have two people with severe dust allergies living in the home and they were not effected by the vacuuming), and-being currently five months pregnant-I had an easy time carrying it up floor levels and vacuuming the stairs. The canister, while being a compact size, was able to hold all the dirt and other items vacuumed up from an entire floor (1600sqft) before I had to empty it. Overall I was very impressed with it and my children are even able to vacuum happily and easily with it; which makes this momma very happy! Verified purchaser The cons are that the beater bar is maybe 2/3 or 1/2 the length of an upright's, so it takes longer to vacuum, and the canister really is small.

The canister is rated at 2 cups, but it only takes less than a cup of dirt. You don't want so much dirt collecting that you need a stick to clean out the canister because the fuzz is stuck in there. The pros are ease of use & maneuverability, GREAT CLEANING, and washable filters. I was surprised that I had to rinse out the filters "every month." But after filling the canister 4x, I checked the filters and they were hardly dirty and didn't need cleaning. So I think I will go every 3 months before cleaning the filters.
battery for delphin vacuum cleanerI bought this Dyson for the allergy rating and because I needed a vacuum that would reach under my queen size bed with only a 4 1/2" clearance.

Walmart offers 2 options for buying this product online for the same price. Be sure to pick the one where you get a bonus set of cleaning attachments. Great product and I'm very happy! Yes () No (4) Report Yes () No (4) Verified purchaser Verified purchaser I have two dogs that are medium and long haired. I have "killed" a few vacuums over the years due to all of the dog hair. This one has been great! It's easy to put together and very easy and comfortable to use. When I first received it I intended to try it out on just the living room, but I ended up vacuuming the entire house and my car. I really like the washable filter feature since those are the objects that get clogged so often. Yes () No (1) Report Yes () No (1) Verified purchaser I really love this vacuum and it did an amazing job getting up the dog hair that had taken up seemingly permanent residence in my old carpet. It is super lightweight and has amazing suction. I thought I would be disappointed that the head was smaller and would take what seemed twice as many strokes to vacuum but instead it was way better than my old one.

Because it was smaller I could get into more cracks and crevices. plus it was so light it did not matter that I had to go over more times. Two small things though - I am a little taller (5ft 8in) and I have to stoop a little because the handle on the brush head is just a little too short. Not a big deal because my house is not too big but if I had a lot of space to do I would get tired. Second for all you pay, they couldn't put a light on the brush head? Now I can get into all of these places that I couldn't before because of the awesome design, but I can't see if I am about to suck up something really bad. I named my little dyson Sugar, since suga means suck in Swedish and I thought the name appropriate since these smaller canister vacuums are so cute! But don't let the looks fool you, this lil thing is a beast. I bought my DC47 recently but haven't used it at home yet since I just moved, however I did take it to work and cleaned my office which I don't think has been vacuumed for years.

I think I could taxidermy a small animal out of the amount of hair it pulled and we're talking about only a cubicle sized office. I'm so impressed with the weight, how easy I can get to every little nook and cranny by the way the nozzle rotates. There were some long hairs that did get tangled up in the nozzle but since I'm easily able to remove it, it took but a minute to get it clean again. It's really quiet too and just overall makes me want to use it more often. I don't see vacuuming so much a burden anymore! Highly recommend this model if you hate upright vacuums like me, got a small place, and have tight spots you need to get to. This is a most excellant machine for cleaning under beds and very high places. I love this machine!!!!! My whole house is hard surface flooring. I have engineered hardwood and ceramic tile. I have three dogs. I vacuum every day. When I first got my vacuum it did not include the floor attachment. I didn't think I'd need it because they SAY it would work on all surfaces.

I found out that is NOT true. The all purpose attachment that came with it sucked much too hard to the hardwood to do anything more than scrape it. So I had to rig up a way to use a dust mop and the hose. After three years of that laborious job, I complained to Dyson and they sent me the floor attachment. Now I can vacuum like any other human being and it gets up the dog hair quite nicely. That attachment SHOULD be sold with the vacuum. OR don't advertise that it works well on all surfaces. I am an ardent fan of Dyson Vacuums. I am currently on my third :). I upgraded to the DC47 because I have 2 cats. I decided to steam clean my bedroom carpet (after a coffee mishap). I borrowed a friends carpet shampooer for the weekend. IMMEDIATELY before I started to clean the carpet I used my Dyson DC47. I then began using the shampooer. The attached picture is the hair that was pulled up by the SHAMPOOER. I was shocked and disappointed. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years. I rave about your machines, and have even let friends borrow my vacuum for a weekend to try it.

After that EVERY single person then purchased one of your vacuums. (Current total of 5) Sadly, I can no longer tell people how great your product is, because I no longer believe in it. Currently I am test driving other brands to find my replacement. I will no longer be buying your products nor recommend them to anyone. I like this so much better than my upright Dysons, which have many faults. This DC 47 is lightweight--which I wanted for stairs, furniture, etc. It is smaller than I anticipated but still has good suction. It is great for stairs. The upright is awful for stairs. DC47 cord is much too short but I realize it needs to retract into that little machine. The cord is flexible--the upright cord is a nightmare. The upright is stiff, cannot straighten where it bends when put back on machine and is the most annoying part. Also, the hose on the upright is so stiff that it will not expand more than a foot or so. The DC 47 cord is short but great. My daughter has the DC3? Animal and loves it.

I used it at her house and decided to buy the DC47 even though I said I would never again buy a Dyson. So, I have only had this machine for a month, but so far I like it and it does remove cat hair along with dirt and dust from most every surface. I have two cata, one of them is long hair. Tumbleweeds of her hair accumulate in ever corner and tiny crevice in my apartment. My old upright could not handle this. I dreamed of geting a Dyson for years. Now that i have my petite powerhouse at home, I love the power, of course, but I did not expect how much it's light weight and easy maneuverability would make my vacuming experience so much easier. To my own benefit, I'm actually vacuuming a lot more! i would have liked to give the DC47 a rating of 4.5, but I only had the choice of 4 or 5. My only complaint is that the DC47 is awkward to store. My old upright was kept out of sight behind my bedroom door. This little model is harder to hide unless you take it apart. While I adore the retractable cord, I wish Dyson could figure out how to incorporate a retractable hose.
