aeg ag932 handheld bagless vacuum cleaner review

The $230 Ergorapido Power stick vacuum is the third Electrolux vacuum we've tested. The $300 Precision Brushroll Clean upright vacuum got an excellent review, whereas the $349 UltraPower Studio stick vacuum turned out to be quite disappointing. The Ergorapido sits somewhere in the middle. It performed better than the UltraPower in our stick vacuum tests, but it still didn't do as well as the $500 Dyson DC59 Animal or the $180 Hoover Linx . If you're set on an Electrolux model or plan to focus your cleaning efforts on smaller debris, the Ergorapido is a fine choice. But, if you want something with top all-around performance, look to the DC59 or the Linx. The Ergorapido Power is pretty similar to the UltraPower Studio in terms of design and features. The Ergorapido is metallic purple with orange accents, whereas the UltraPower is metallic dark blue with orange accents. Like the UltraPower, the Ergorapido offers cord-free vacuuming complete with charging dock, LED "headlights," a see-through nozzle, and flexible tubing that makes it extremely maneuverable.

The Ergorapido also offers Electrolux's signature "Brush Roll Clean" technology. If you recall from my UltraPower review, the Brush Roll Clean feature allows you to detangle hair or other particles without having to remove the brush and clean it manually. Just turn on the vacuum and press the lever located on the right side of the nozzle. That will release another lever inside the nozzle that "combs" through the brush to help with small particle buildup. While it probably won't be able to fix any large-debris tangles like a mishap with a set of earphones, it does a pretty good job with the small stuff. From there, the Ergorapido's features start to diverge a bit. Unlike the UltraPower, the Ergorapido is a 2-in-1 model -- a stick and handheld vacuum are neatly packaged into one traditional-looking stick vacuum. Press the 2-in-1 button on the front of the vacuum and the handheld unit will release for use. A separate brush attachment for the handheld vacuum is even included with the purchase.

Additionally, the Ergorapido offers only two cleaning modes -- normal and high, whereas the UltraPower offers three: normal, booster, and silent. It also doesn't have an LED status bar that lets you know how much time is left on your charge. Unlike the UltraPower's 25.2-volt lithium ion battery, the Ergorapido's 14.4-volt battery is nickel-metal hydride -- common in handheld vacuums. At 5.5 pounds, the Ergorapido is the lightest of the "traditional" stick vacs. The UltraPower weighs 6.3 pounds, the Linx weighs 7.3 pounds, and the $350 Gtech AirRam weighs 7.7 pounds. Due to their unconventional configurations, the Dyson DC59 and the $180 Shark Rocket weigh less -- 4.6 pounds for the DC59 and 4.2 pounds for the Rocket.Stick vacuums tend to be easier to use than uprights. They weigh less, and they're typically cordless (all of the models we tested are cordless, except the Shark Rocket). There's much less lugging involved overall. The Electrolux Ergorapido is no exception.Like the Electrolux UltraPower Studio stick vacuum I reviewed, the Ergorapido is incredibly easy to maneuver.

I love the bendable tubing on the back that makes it so good at making turns (and where the UltraPower had trouble standing upright, the Ergorapido seems much better at snapping into place and staying put).
bosch gs60 vacuum cleanerAdd in the fact that the Ergorapido weighs nearly a pound less than the UltraPower, and it's my vote for the most maneuverable traditional stick model we tested.
genesis hydrovac plus filtration vacuum cleaner reviewThe aeg ultraone deluxe is a small but perfectly formed vacuum cleaner with some clever design touches and an excellent build quality.
hausmeister extraction vacuum cleaner reviewsFor example the telescopic tube is mostly made from aluminium and has a very clever release lock which works in both directions, so whether you’re extending or reducing the length of the tube it’s easy and intuitive.

The tube is also longer than most, at full stretch, and means that taller people (like me coincidentally) don’t have to stoop when doing the vacuuming thereby avoiding the inevitable backache. The mains cable is longer than average too at about 9m and it’s a thinner lightweight cable than most – our previous vacuum cleaner has a cable that’s just the right thickness to keep getting stuck under open doors while you work, but this one doesn’t. The cord rewind mechanism is strong and fast too, whipping the cord back into the machine in a couple of seconds and without ever leaving that little tail hanging out. There’s also wireless remote control built into the main handle (needs a replaceable battery) so that you can switch on/off, enable auto mode or vary the suction power without having to bend down or tap buttons with your foot. In fact the remote control is the only way to vary the suction strength as the only switch on the main body of the cleaner is just an off/on switch.

The biggest surprise when you first switch it on is just how quiet it is, compared to most vacuums, and you wonder if it’s really doing anything worthwhile – then you notice the suction and realise it really is. The vacuum comes on in auto mode and this means the cleaner varies the amount of suction depending on the surface you’re currently vacuuming – i assume it detects the speed or amount of airflow and reduces the suction when the airflow drops, like when over a thick carpet, so that the head doesn’t get suctioned to the floor. Well built to last at a price. My long lived, much abused henry came to the end of it life the other week. Having used a dyson in the past, which was ok, but failed to deliver on the larger jobs, i was hopeful that this aeg bagged cylinder cleaner would come up as a suitable replacement for my much loved henry. The first thing to note is that the aeg currently retails at nearer to £300 against my old henry at around £ 100. We were certainly not disappointed by the build quality of the aeg and the nice little features that come with it (for example being able to adjust the power from the handle).

Importantly the chord is long (similar to henry), being able to reach many parts of our house without constantly have to re-plug it in. The suction is excellent (as was my henry), however i was slightly disappointed with the bag size and that for the money it only came with a couple of them. A quick search on the current cost of the bags was a bit eye watering – hopefully i’ll be able to find some cheaper ones. The weight is probably a third lighter than my previous vacuum and importantly was easy to use on the stairs. The vacuum is noticeably quieter than many vacuums i have had in the past. Exceptional suction but hindered by tiny bag. This machine is definitely a beast in the vacuum cleaner world. A heavy cylinder vacuum, it has five settings (displayed on a digital panel at the front of the machine) controlled via the handle. Although the unit itself is quite heavy and cumbersome to carry and drag about, the actual handle and pole are made of plastic and feel quite feather light so that when you’re using it, you barely feel any resistance or weight at all.

The suction on this one seems quite exceptional, i could feel it pulling itself tight to the carpet (on the highest setting) while on the lowest setting it was strong enough to pull up dirt from my lino without dragging the lino up from the floor. As for the sound it makes, on the lower settings (between 1 and 3) it’s relatively whisper quiet. You could literally vacuum at one in the morning and your neighbours most likely wouldn’t hear you. However, move on to settings 4 and 5, and holy hell. It seems to only be loud using certain heads – i use rolling brush attachments for all of my house because i have two cats and they shed like mad. Despite vacuuming every day i could easily fill an entire hoover bag with cat hair alone. Decent vacuum but why bagged?. I found this vacuum cleaner very easy to set up out of the box and i didn’t need to read any instructions. I find it quite heavy, compared to previous vacuum cleaners, which is a problem as i need to lift it up to put into storage.

I tend not to change the different brush heads whilst doing a quick daily vacuum, so i’ve stuck with one head, and don’t switch for hard flooring. The vacuum cleaner itself isn’t too loud, although my other one is much quieter. I am very pleased with the suction. I have a cat and this did a good job at sucking up dust and fur and the dirty area around the litter tray. One major downpoint for is it is bagged. I prefer emptying my vacuum each time i use it, and having bags is just an added expense for me. I also think the bags are quite small considering?. A cleaning beast of a machine. The first thing to say about this vacuum cleaner is the immense power it has. I was in shock at how powerfully it performed even on the minimum settingit is super quiet too. I could have a conversation without having to raise my voice. The remote control on the handle is fabulous. You can switch it on/off and adjust the power with the click of a button. The handle also makes it so much easier to grip and clean.
