The special Chemical is also pumped down into the Burner where it is turned to steam. When this chemical is turned to steam and comes into contact with chewing gum it breaks down the gum instantly, dissolving it into a non sticky liquid residue. This residue is simply swept away with a brush, when it rains any residue left behind will simply wash away leaving the area totally gum free.Before now there was only 2 other methods to remove chewing gum, 1 was using a dry steam cleaner which required a noisy generator, & also has cables and hoses trailing along the ground making it unsafe to use, this type of dry steamer is also a lot slower at removing gum. The other method was using high pressure washers, these also have trailing water hoses & electrics, or use engine driven pumps which are noisy. This method also creates a huge amount of mess blasting hundreds of litres of water all over the surrounding area, the gum is only blasted off and so ends up somewhere else where it could get trodden in again.
